PRAYER GUIDE: JANUARY to MARCH 2007

January 2008NCFI Matters
Week 1Pray for Kamalini Kumar, President and Vice-President Sam Mbok of NCFI Board. Kamalini steps down as President in 2008. Pray for the Lord's choice of the next President.
Thank the Lord for David Parfitt, part time NCFI administrator, who plays an important role to support the communication systems among member countries and the Board.
For a good attendance at the NCFI conference in Jos, Nigeria from 14 to 18 Sep. For provision for delegate's travel and registration expenses; for safe travel; for peace and fellowship.
Thank the Lord for John White, financial advisor for NCFI and his contribution to making financial matters clear and sound to the Board.
Pray for good responses to call for papers, to be presented at the Jos Conference. Pray for Tove Giske who is coordinating all abstracts for the conference.
Pray for finances for sponsorship of those, from less well developed countries, who cannot afford all the costs for the Jos conference.
Thank God for partnerships with HCFI. Pray that we will learn to work together to make the Kingdom of God and His love evident in the field of health.

EUROPEAN REGION
Weeks 2 & 3Finland - Praise the Lord for their 60th Anniversary in 2008. Pray for God's Mind in the preparations and for a joint meeting they plan with CMF and ICMDA. Pray for Christian nurses in Lithuania, some are considering emigrating and also for contacts in Latvia and Estonia.
Denmark - Pray for the plans for their 50th anniversary. Praise the Lord for Annette. Pray for the new committee, Kirstin, Kirsti, Gerda and Lisbeth that God will lead them and give them His Mind for NCF Ingrid is having a change in her work situation, please pray for God's guidance for her. Pray for nurses in Greenland and the Faeroe Islands.
Germany - Praise the Lord for Uta, Andrea and Hanneke as they plan to represent NCFI in the 1st Christian Resources Exhibition in March. Pray for God's provision as this involves a big expense. Pray for God's choice of a flat for Uta.
Pray for nurses in all European countries, including Moldova and Romania as well as those in CIS countries, Cyprus, and Turkey.
Norway - Have just had their annual meeting. Pray for God's enabling to carry out the proposals made and for the members of the committee. Pray for Tove and Karen and for outreach among student nurses.
England and Wales - Pray for the CNM Conference, which is taking place in Wales, 01-03 Feb and the speakers and CNM planning committee. Please pray for the new CNM committee that God will guide them.
Scotland - Praise the Lord for their anniversary year. Pray for contacts with students and with young nurses facing changes. Pray for the committee and for Isobel in the office. Pray for the missionaries they support
Spain - Praise the Lord for a good representation in the 1st Christian Resources Exhibition in Madrid. Pray for the follow up of the contacts made there. Pray for the Conference in Madrid on 08 March 2008

But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ...and Paul settled there a year and six months teaching the word of God among them.
PACIFIC AND EASTERN ASIA (PACEA REGION)
Week 4Thank the Lord for Swee Eng Goh, Chieko Fukushima and Lee Won Hee, NCFI International Board members. Pray for the PACEA Region committee led by Dawn Capaque.
Japan - Thank the Lord for contact with Mongolian Christian nurses, Japanese nurse educators and others who visited the NCFI stand at ICN in Japan. JNCF brought the broader vision of NCF and the importance of NCF ministry in Nursing and Nursing Education professionally to a wider audience. Pray for continuing fanning of the vision. JNCF wants to host NCFI PACEA conference in 2010.
Thank the Lord for Chieko Fukushima as she continues to lead the fellowship as Staff worker and Director. New leaders need courage to rise up the occasion to take over the baton from Chieko.
February 2008
Weeks 5 & 6
Philippines NCF - under the able leadership of Phoebe Pendon (President) has started regional NCF conferences in Philippines. The first was held 29 Nov to 02 Dec with the aim to bring nurses from the different regions together. Philippines NCF's vision of global transformation through excellent nursing has been targeted to reach its goal in the year 2020. They are challenged to track nurses who may go abroad to work and how they contribute to global transformation. Pray for the leadership as many young nurses leave for abroad to find work.
Pray for Dawn Capaque who lectures full time in a nursing college and combines part time study with her role as chairperson of the PACEA regional committee.
Thank the Lord for two Indonesian nurses who joined the team Alicia Banas, Chieko Fukushima and Goh Swee Eng for Kalimantan community health training in October 2007. They were Fiolenty Sitorus and Juniarta Sinaga. Pray for a deeper walk with the Lord that they will hear His voice to continue with the work in 2008.
Praise the Lord for the estimated 90 participants (pastors, teachers, church workers) who attended the 3 day training. The next 2 training will be in May and October 2008.
Pray for Alicia in her work as Executive Director for Medical Ambassadors, Philippines beside ministry with the Kalimantan project. Pray for her family as she needs to travel now and then that the Lord will take care of them and meet their needs.
Indonesia NCF - Pray for the President Ramondang who has a busy work schedule as head of a nursing college in Jakarta.
Pray for strength, wisdom as she serves among nurses in Jakarta
Pray for strengthening of the fellowship that many will rise up as godly Christian leaders in their workplace. Pray for courage, and a godly life to testify as they work and serve in the largest Muslim population in the world.

Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.
Week 7Malaysia - Thank God for the opportunity of sharing the work of MNCF to the students from Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre in November. Pray for open doors to do the same in other nursing colleges.
Thank the Lord for Chan Kum Sum, who held the position as President of MNCF for many years. She is now retired but actively serving others the ministry of help, caring and editing the MNCF electronic newsletter.
Pray for the Lord to raise a staff worker as the country is big and Christian nurses working without fellowship may feel isolated and discouraged.
Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will raise up a regional staff member to help in the work of this large region.
Staff Workers - Remember the staff workers in the region : Hye Sook (S. Korea), Joanna Teoh and Kim Choo(Singapore), Merrill Tan and Darlene Pendon (Philippines), Chieko Fukushima (Japan), Rachel Fu (Hong Kong).
Fiji - Remember the Christian nurses of Fiji Islands.
Papua New Guinea - please pray for the nurses in this large country and they need a staff worker.
Australia & New Zealand - Continue to pray that God will strengthen the development of NCF in Australia and will make progress towards the revival work of NCF in New Zealand. Pray for nurses to receive a new vision and zeal to assume leadership.
AFRICAN REGION
Week 8Nigeria - Please pray for the FCN Conference Planning Committee as they prepare for the NCFI 50th Anniversary International Conference to be held in Jos, Nigeria from 14 to 18 Sep 2008. Pray for the Lord's anointing upon them.
Pray for motivation and resources so that many nurses from around the world will be able to attend the NCFI conference and celebrate together this 50th anniversary of the birth of NCFI.
Ghana & Zambia - pray for nurses in these countries, especially those who are suffering from HIV/AIDS, as a result of caring for those who are suffering from this dreadful disease. Remember also all nurses throughout Africa and the many problems which they have to deal with on a daily basis.

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
March 2008CENTRAL ASIA AND MIDDLE EAST (CAME) REGION
Week 9Pray for NCFI International Board members, Chinnamma Mathew, Stacy Saha and Esther Sirra that the Lord will strengthen, encourage and empower them for Ministry in this vast region. We also ask for prayers for all those who are working in Healthcare in Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Pray that several nurses from this Region will be able to attend the NCFI Conference in Nigeria in 2008. Pray that the Lord will provide the financial means.
India - Continue to pray that God will raise up a national co-coordinator for ENFI to carry out the administrative responsibilities of the organization. Many nurses leave India for work. Thank the Lord for the contacts made in Mizoram, India and the request for discipleship training. May the Lord continue to send people to water the seeds that were sown.
Bangladesh - We ask for prayers for those who have lost their homes and possessions following the recent floods. We also remember the work of Stacy Saha in the Lamb Project.
Pakistan - Please pray for all healthcare workers in this troubled country

Paul and Barnabas had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying "Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God."
CARIBBEAN AND NORTH AMERICA (CANA REGION)
Week 10Thank the Lord for NCFI President, Kamalini Kumar and for Barbara White and Hope Graham, all International Board members from the CANA region. Pray for them as they fulfill their duties as leaders of the Nursing Profession in their respective countries.
USA - Remember Pat Emery, the new NCF director for USA and Linda Kunz, based in the NCF USA office In Madison, Wisconsin. Pray for courage, strength and the love of God will overflow from their hearts as they serve God in their country.
Pray for new leaders to be raised up among Canadian Christian nurses and the work of Carol Hamilton, NCF Director for Canada, in her desire to expand NCF into all the provinces of Canada.
Continue to thank God for the Journal of Christian Nursing and pray for those who are responsible for ministering to so many through this publication
Pray for contact with the many Christian nurses in the Caribbean countries. Pray that nurses from the Caribbean will be able to attend the NCFI Conference in Nigeria

LATIN AMERICA REGION
Week 11Thank the Lord for Grace Morillo and Eunice Siccardi who represent the big continent of Latin America. Pray for the Lord to strengthen them and that much Christian love will flow from their hearts.
Praise the Lord for the support in prayer and presence during the recent Latin America Regional Conference. Praise the Lord for what he did, and for what He is doing as a result of the Congress. Several nurses who, for one reason or another, could not be present, but who now want to participate in NCFI and CECEC.

For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.
NCFI Leadership Development
Week 12Thank the Lord for Barbara White who leads the steering committee to implement the NCFI Leadership Development programme which will be rolled out at the NCFI Conference in Nigeria.
Different members have been assigned to develop different parts of the material. Pray for them as many have full time nursing jobs and they need wisdom, strength and inspiration from the Holy Spirit for their tasks.
Pray for the mentoring of NCFI International Board members as they pray to bring a mentor to the Jos conference. Pray that Christian nurses and Board members will imitate Jesus who is the model and vision for nurses.

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus and the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
